He told the enthusiastic crowd, “We gotta get the senators elected, because we can take the Senate pretty easily. And I think with our little secret, we’re gonna do really well with the House, right? Some even suggested that the former president was hinting at a strategy for Speaker Johnson to help him secure victory in the House should the election results come into dispute.

Representative Dan Goldman, a Democrat from New York, told CNN, “I suspect—we don’t know— but I suspect Donald Trump’s little secret plan with Mike Johnson is a backup plan for when he loses and tries to go to the House of Representatives to throw out the Electoral College certification from the states and have the House of Representatives, under the leadership, control, and gavel of Mike Johnson, try to overturn this election.”

The left’s reaction to Trump’s comments at Madison Square Garden was predictably over-the-top. Liberal news outlets branded the rally as “offensive,” “crude,” and even “racist.” One New York Times headline dubbed the event “A Closing Carnival of Grievances, Misogyny and Racism.” When discussing the relationship between Trump and the House Speaker, Politico dubbed Trump’s line as “potentially more sinister comments.” The crucial detail left out was that Trump’s statement was merely a push for Republicans to win back Congress.

Axios reported: “Trump himself used Nazi-inspired language like ‘occupied country’ and ‘enemy from within…’ How one sees these similarities and differences between these two events, 85 years apart, depends on their personal politics and views of history.”

“Donald Trump spends full-time trying to have Americans point their finger at each other, fans the fuel of hate and division, and that’s why people are exhausted with him. … People are literally ready to turn the page. They’re tired of it,” Kamala Harris said on Monday.
