Former President Donald Trump has secured another massive win in Florida and will be carrying its 30 electoral votes for the third straight presidential election cycle.

Trump’s victory was boosted by record-breaking early voting numbers in The Sunshine State, as Republicans entered Election Day with an astonishing 750,000 vote lead in mail-in and early in-person ballots. The GOP lead only expanded on Election Day, with GOP voters nearly doubling Democrat turnout.

Once viewed as a battleground state, Florida has moved into solid red territory in recent years. Republicans have since smashed the Democratic Party in terms of voter registration, while the state continues to add electoral votes due to Governor Ron DeSantis’ handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Early results are also looking good for incumbent Republican Senator Rick Scott, who was projected to run behind the former president. While Scott is slightly trailing Trump’s numbers, he is in a good position to win re-election by a comfortable margin as of this report.

Florida’s Voice contributor Eric Daugherty is reporting that Trump is far outpacing his previous vote totals in the blue stronghold of Miami-Dade. Harris only held a 21-point lead with early voting in, down from 30 percent for Joe Biden in 2020. “This is a stunning victory for Donald J. Trump in Florida,” Daugherty wrote in an X post, adding that the “suburbs swung hard for Trump.”

NBC News reported that Trump is making massive gains with Latino voters in the state as well. Hillary Clinton won 61 percent of Latino voters in the majority Latino Osceola County in 2016, while President Biden secured 56.4 percent in 2020. With more than 50 percent of the vote in, Harris is running ahead of Trump by just over two percentage points with 51 percent.

In Duval County — which is widely viewed as a bellwether for Georgia — former President Trump entered the day at a small disadvantage in early voting data. As results pour in, Trump has now flipped the pivotal county and is expanding his lead as of this report.

Former President Trump will be watching election results from his Mar-A-Lago estate in Palm Beach. He will be joined by X owner Elon Musk and other top campaign surrogates and supporters, though the event is closed to the public.
