JUST IN: Trump Wins Longtime Swing State
Decision Desk HQ has projected that Donald J. Trump will win Ohio’s 18 electoral votes, continuing the former president’s strong performance in a state that has shifted from a bellwether to a solidly Republican stronghold.
Trump secured the victory with 53.5% of the vote, outpacing Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, who garnered 45.6% of the votes with 57% of ballots counted in the state.
Ohio, a state that had once been a key battleground in presidential elections, continues to lean red. Trump also carried Ohio in both 2016 and 2020, by margins of 7.7% and 8.1%, respectively.

As of now, with partial results in for the 2024 presidential election, Trump is leading the electoral vote count with 137, while Kamala Harris has 99. Key battleground states are still in play, and results are not yet final in several areas. Trump’s path to 270 electoral votes is shaping up through wins in traditionally Republican states, while Harris has secured key Democratic strongholds.
The race remains tight, with both candidates vying for the necessary 270 electoral votes to claim victory.
