WATCH: Catherine Herridge Teases Bombshell Revelations In Hunter Biden Investigation
Veteran investigative journalist Catherine Herridge — who was fired by CBS News after refusing to give up her sources in a high-profile investigation — recently released an in-depth report on the network’s efforts to derail her reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in the lead-up to the 2020 Election.
Earlier this month, Herridge revealed that she brought evidence to CBS News executive Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews and “CBS Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell in early October 2020 that the laptop contained material about “a million dollar retainer from a Chinese energy firm,” along with texts and emails from then-candidate Biden’s son. Later that month, Herridge expressed her shock and disbelief to see “60 Minutes” anchor Lesley Stahl state that the laptop “couldn’t be verified” during her heavily edited interview with then-President Trump.

Trump cited the network’s refusal to retract the blatant lie — which cited a thoroughly debunked letter from 51 intelligence officials claiming the laptop contained “hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign” — in refusing to sit for a primetime “60 Minutes” interview ahead of the 2024 Election.
“As I watched the broadcast, I felt sick,” Herridge wrote in her “Catherine Herridge Reports” newsletter. “I knew the laptop records could be vetted and confirmed.”
“It took an additional two years for the network to broadcast a forensic review of the Hunter Biden laptop data. I advocated for the report which determined that both the data belonged to Hunter Biden and it had not been tampered with. Our report was broadcast in November 2022, after the midterm elections. I may have more to say about the delay in the future,” the veteran reporter continued.
On Tuesday, Herridge released an in-depth video report detailing her findings on the Hunter Biden laptop report. “We eventually broadcast the story about the Hunter Biden laptop after the midterm elections in 2022. We commissioned a forensic review. I got a copy of the laptop data. I have it. I have it here still. I went to a lot of effort to get the cleanest copy of the laptop data, the same data that was provided to the FBI, because I didn’t want to have any professional journalistic risk for CBS News. I wanted this thing to be totally locked down,” she explained.
Herridge went on to say that she was not fond of the network’s decision to air the investigation’s findings after the 2022 midterm elections, stating that it wasn’t ready yet.
“You should not be dictated by the political cycle. Once we got the laptop story on the morning news, I felt that there was so much there that we could still do. For example, in the text messages, there’s unfortunately the use of the N-word, the liberal use of the N-word,” the veteran reporter continued.
“And I thought this was worthy of a story, but I was told that it was not something that interested CBS News. Then I asked for a forensic review of the laptop and we found that there were more than half a dozen emails that were likely used by Joe Biden. I thought that was a story.”
