REPORT: Reason For Pelosi’s Shock Hospital Visit Is Revealed
On Friday, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury on a bipartisan trip to Luxembourg, according to a statement issued by her spokesperson. Pelosi, 84, was part of a Congressional delegation commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, a pivotal moment in World War II history.
“While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” Ian Krager, Pelosi’s spokesperson, said in the statement.
A source informed DailyMail that she sustained injuries from falling down some stairs during her visit. Although the injuries are not severe, they have led to the cancellation of her remaining commitments on the congressional delegation trip.
Krager said that Pelosi is receiving “excellent treatment” from medical professionals and remains in good spirits, though she will be unable to participate in the remainder of the trip’s scheduled events.
“Speaker Emerita Pelosi conveys her thanks and praise to our veterans and gratitude to people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their service in World War II and their role in bringing peace to Europe,” Krager said. Pelosi also reflected on the personal significance of the trip, mentioning her uncle Johnny, who served during World War II.

Pelosi, the first female Speaker of the House, has remained active in Congressional affairs since stepping down as Democratic leader in early 2023.
The Battle of the Bulge was a major German offensive in the Ardennes region, remembered for the resilience and sacrifice of Allied troops. This month, Luxembourg and Belgium are commemorating its anniversary. The battle is particularly significant as one of the largest and deadliest battles fought by American forces during World War II. Over 19,000 American soldiers lost their lives in the battle.
First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1987, Pelosi has served for 37 years as of 2024, representing California’s 12th District. Currently, there are no term limits for members of Congress. Critics have long questioned whether lawmakers should hold office for decades without mandatory turnover.
Earlier this week, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was absent from a press conference following a fall during a closed-door Senate lunch earlier this week. Urgency was observed as a wheelchair entered McConnell’s office and emergency responders were seen around the area. The 82-year-old senator, who has struggled with mobility issues from childhood polio, reportedly suffered a minor cut on his face and a sprained wrist but was cleared to resume work.
McConnell, a central figure in U.S. politics since 1985, has faced health concerns in recent years, including recovery from a concussion. Despite previous episodes of freezing during public events, he continues his leadership role until his term concludes in January 2027.
