WATCH: Karoline Leavitt Brings The Receipts, Shuts Down Reporter’s Doubts About DOGE

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took direct aim at skeptics questioning the administration’s transparency regarding federal spending and policy changes, particularly in relation to DOGE’s latest findings. Armed with evidence, Leavitt provided undeniable proof of wasteful government contracts that directly contradict President Trump’s America First policies.

“Before it was Elon Musk making our government efficient and accountable, it was some unnamed bureaucrat that none of you knew,” Leavitt started. “Elon Musk is the richest man in the world.”

“He’s also now one of the most highly scrutinized men in the world alongside President Trump because of what he’s doing and the access that he is allowing. So there’s great transparency.”

With Musk’s influence growing in Washington, the administration has taken aggressive steps to curb unnecessary spending and bring greater oversight to taxpayer-funded programs. On Wednesday, Leavitt wasted no time addressing concerns and setting the record straight with hard evidence.

“As for the actual receipts, we are happy to provide them and I actually brought some today because all of you know I love to bring the receipts. We have contracts upon contracts that we can send and provide this information to you,” she said.

Leavitt held up a piece of paper, showcasing details of various contracts that directly defy Trump’s policy directives. Among them was a $36,000 contract for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) services within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which runs counter to the administration’s America First agenda.

Another document revealed a $3.4 million contract for a Council for Inclusive Innovation at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office within the Department of Commerce, another DEI-related expenditure identified by the DOJ.

“Oh, I love this one, $57,000 for climate change in Sri Lanka. What is this doing to continue the interests of the American people?” she asked. “Absolutely nothing! These are the line items across the federal government that DOGE is identifying daily. They’re moving very fast.”

“Did anybody know this was even happening in our country before Elon Musk talked about it in the Oval Office yesterday?” Leavitt asked. “A lot of Americans didn’t. So we are providing transparency and accessibility on a daily basis when it comes to DOGE.”

President Trump established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in January, appointing Musk to lead the initiative aimed at slashing federal spending. DOGE’s goal is to cut at least $1 trillion from the budget by targeting agencies like USAID and the CFPB, implementing workforce reductions, and attempting to halt certain government disbursements.

One major policy requires federal agencies to hire only one employee for every four who leave. The aggressive cost-cutting measures have triggered legal challenges, with critics accusing DOGE of political motivations and potential overreach.

Lawsuits from Democrats and unions claim the department is unlawfully withholding congressionally approved funds. Musk has defended DOGE’s actions, acknowledging some errors but insisting on the necessity of reforms. The department faces ongoing legal and political battles, with plans to conclude its work by July 4, 2026, aligning with America’s 250th anniversary.

Leavitt, however, made it clear that the administration welcomes scrutiny and is fully prepared to provide more evidence.
