House Democrat Throws Cold Water On Party’s ‘BS’ Epstein Narrative

As those on the left desperately attempt, without evidence, to link President Donald Trump to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, a growing number of House Democrats are already fed up with the party’s “bu****it” narrative and are speaking out behind the scenes, according to a report from Axios.

According to the report, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is encouraging his conference to make as much noise as possible about the Epstein case in an effort to smear President Trump and give the party a message. Jeffries has joined a number of Democrat governors, presidential hopefuls and pundits in talking about the Epstein case nonstop after hardly mentioning it for four years.

This, coupled with the fact that Democrats had opportunities to demand transparency on the case when they were in power, has some members of the caucus increasingly skeptical of the strategy. “Several” lawmakers told Axios that they would much rather spend August discussing more coherent policy goals and midterm plans, with one unnamed lawmaker bluntly putting it, “Candidly, this whole thing is just such bulls**t.”

Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY), the co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, told the outlet that he is “not really focused” on Epstein. “I think the big focus is going to be on health care, because that’s what people care about, and I don’t think this issue is big outside the Beltway,” he said.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), who oftentimes finds himself at odds with his party on immigration policy, also expressed his opposition to the strategy in a text message. “We will focus on [the ‘big, beautiful bill’], Medicaid, and tariffs raising costs,” he said.

Other Democrats argued that hammering Republicans on the Epstein matter is a winning strategy. “I think all these issues are linked together,” Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX), who co-chairs the House Progressive Caucus, told the outlet. “Trump is willing to lie and betray his own people, and he’s willing to take away your health care to give it to his rich friends. … I think it’s all part of one story,” he added.

Fellow progressive Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), who was recently confronted over her sudden change of heart on the Epstein case during a CNN interview, also defended the new strategy. “I’m talking about Medicaid, I’m talking about tax breaks to billionaires — and I’m talking about Epstein, because he fits right in there,” the congresswoman told Axios.

Another House Democrat, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, see’s the drama as a way to incite GOP infighting. “Do I think this is going to win us the election? No. But … this is a great opportunity for [Republicans] to kill each other,” the unnamed lawmaker.

Jeffries has reportedly “surprised” his conference with his aggressive push to focus on Jeffrey Epstein and the release of all available documents relating to the case, which are currently being withheld by federal judges. His messaging arm, the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, sent out several emails to members’ offices last week seeking input on how to best message the issue, according to a report from Politico.

“We’ve encouraged members to lean into this, to talk to their constituents about it,” said Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), who currently serves as one of the committee’s co-chairs. “It’s an opportunity to speak with people who might usually disagree with you.”

When asked whether he was worried the Epstein drama would take away from an effective messaging campaign on opposition to Trump’s policies, Jeffries told reporters that it is “all connected.”

“Donald Trump, his administration and House Republicans have delivered nothing more than a government of the billionaires, by the billionaires and for the billionaires,” he said.

One anonymous lawmaker called the Epstein issue “great, tawdry soap opera s**t,” and said that “MAGA attacking MAGA equals a win for us. So the more that happens, the more we can foment that, the better.”
