Vince McMahon Involved In Serious Car Accident
WWE titan Vince McMahon escaped the worst outcome following a devastating car crash, according to authorities who responded to the horrific scene.
McMahon, the wrestling federation’s former CEO, was traveling near Westport, Connecticut, last week when his 2024 Bentley plowed into a 2023 BMW 430, sending it into a median guardrail. Debris from the collision flew into the opposite lane, causing damage to a Ford Fusion.
In a Facebook post, Barbara Doran explained that McMahon’s Bentley hit her BMW as she was traveling to catch a ferry ride to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
No one was hurt in the wreck, according to TMZ, but police cited McMahon for reckless driving.
Photos of the crash scene show complete carnage and a shredded front end of the businessman’s Bentley, which reportedly deployed its airbag in the accident.
In a twist of fate, McMahon’s crash occurred on the same day that wrestling icon Hulk Hogan passed away at age 71.
It was only hours after his crash that McMahon took to social media to praise his friend for a life well lived.

“The world lost a treasure today,” wrote McMahon. “Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon.”
“His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled — and made him the consummate performer. He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved.”
“He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, ‘Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers.’ Today, we pray for him.”
The NY Post reported that McMahon is slated to appear before a court in August related to the crash.
McMahon, 79, is almost singlehandedly responsible for the popularity of U.S. professional wrestling. He purchased the WWE from his father, Vincent J. McMahon, in 1982 and went on to found Wrestlemania, which helped to elevate the sport and introduce its future stars to millions of new fans.
He appeared on-screen both as a character in the ring and WWE’s CEO for more than 50 years, only stepping away in 2022. His resignation coincided with an investigation into a hush money payment to settle an affair, resulting in the succession of his daughter, Stephanie McMahon.
Not content to corner one industry, the McMahon clan has in recent decades branched out into politics. His wife, Linda, now President Donald Trump’s secretary of education, unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate in 2010.
