WATCH: Elizabeth Warren Falls Down On Senate Floor In Embarrassing Moment

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is going viral for the wrong reasons after she took a tumble on the Senate floor Thursday.

C-SPAN footage shows Warren, 76, waving to a colleague while idling in between votes. She then leaned back on what she thought was a desk, but miscalculated and ending up toppling over.

A number of senators then rushed over to see if she was alright, though Warren was ultimately able to pull herself up, avoiding injury.

While Warren’s tumble appears to be unrelated to any injury or ailments, it has renewed discussion around aging lawmakers after a series of more serious falls in recent weeks.

During a floor debate on the recently passed Big Beautiful Bill, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) reportedly fell while parroting party lines about President Donald Trump’s “big, ugly bill” following negotiations that lasted more than 24 hours. Schakowsky, 81, fell down not long after a blustery, hourslong filibuster by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who invoked the so-called “magic minute” rule to delay the bill’s final passage for several hours.

Schakowsky, who was first elected in 1998, announced earlier this year that she will not be seeking re-election in 2026. The announcement kicked off what was expected to be a wave of retirements among aging Democrat lawmakers, with Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL) announcing his retirement earlier today.

A day before Schakowsky’s fall, another aging Democrat drew headlines for falling asleep during the marathon debate process. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), 71, was caught dozing off in her chair shortly after a congressional committee convened around 9 a.m. EST.

The cognitive state of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has also been in question due to a number of troubling public appearances in recent weeks. Pelosi, 84, has often been seen struggling to walk as she attempts to recover from replacement hip surgery.

The sight of Pelosi—once known for navigating Capitol Hill in four-inch stilettos—now relying on crutches and wearing more practical footwear is a large contrast to her past image. Despite her evident physical limitations, Pelosi has maintained her stance that President Donald Trump is “unwell” and unfit for office, even as she faces increasing scrutiny over her own ability to serve effectively in her advanced years.
