JUST IN: Popular DOGE Staffer Brutally Assaulted In Downtown D.C.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday suggested that he may authorize a federal takeover of Washington D.C. after a well-known Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer was brutally assaulted.

“Crime in Washington, D.C., is totally out of control. Local ‘youths’ and gang members, some only 14, 15, and 16-years-old, are randomly attacking, mugging, maiming, and shooting innocent Citizens, at the same time knowing that they will be almost immediately released,” the president posted on Truth Social.

“They are not afraid of Law Enforcement because they know nothing ever happens to them, but it’s going to happen now! The Law in D.C. must be changed to prosecute these ‘minors’ as adults, and lock them up for a long time, starting at age 14.”

Trump then revealed that a member of the DOGE team — who is well known to the public — was assaulted by a group of criminals like those he was describing. A photo attached to the post shows the battered and bloodied sitting on the ground after officers responded to the assault.

The victim was identified by internet sleuths as Edward Coristine, a young DOGE staffer who spawned popular memes due to his former screen name, “Big Balls.” Coristine has played a key role in combing through federal agencies in search of waste, fraud, and abuse.

Former DOGE chief Elon Musk confirmed that the attack took place and agreed with Trump’s plan for a possible federal takeover in a social media post of his own. “A few days ago, a gang of about a dozen young men tried to assault a woman in her car at night in DC. A [DOGE] team member saw what was happening, ran to defend her and was severely beaten to the point of concussion, but he saved her,” Musk revealed.

“It’s time to federalize DC,” he added.

Trump went on to say that if D.C. leaders fail to get their acts together, he will have “no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore.”

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, suspects approached victims standing next to a car in the 1400 block of Swann Street NW about 3 a.m. Sunday. The suspects demanded the car, then assaulted one victim.

NBC 4 Washington reported that the suspects fled when a metro police cruiser pulled into the block. Two of the suspects — a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl from Hyattsville, Maryland — were taken into custody and charged with unarmed carjacking.

“No one who lives, works or visits D.C. should experience this; it is horrific and disturbing,” D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb said in a statement. “I cannot comment on specific cases, but know that when MPD brings us cases with sufficient evidence of juveniles who have broken the law and hurt people, we will prosecute them and ensure they face consequences for their actions.”
