‘Transgender’ Congresswoman Melts Down Over Fox News Headline
Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), the nation’s first “transgender” member of Congress, lashed out on social media after a Fox News headline referred to McBride as a “Transgender Democrat” in coverage of his attack on President Donald Trump. McBride accused Fox of pushing “identity politics,” despite having made his “female” gender identity central to his own campaign and public image.
The backlash began when Fox News published a story on McBride’s latest remarks against Trump, in which he claimed he was engaged in an “all-out assault” on American democracy. The headline read: “Transgender Democrat accuses Trump of ‘all-out assault’ against American democracy.” The piece noted that McBride also accused Trump of “taking notes from his favorite dictator.”
But it was the use of the word “transgender” in the headline—not the content of the article—that drew McBride’s ire.
“What does my identity have to do with the fact that Trump is trying to rig our elections? Nothing —unless you’re as obsessed with identity politics as the right wing,” McBride wrote on X. “Also, I said what I said.”

McBride claimed these actions prove Trump lacks popular support and is resorting to authoritarian tactics to rig future elections. At the same time, McBride admitted that Democrats may have overplayed their hand on transgender issues in the 2024 cycle, saying the party got too far ahead of public opinion.
President Trump, meanwhile, doubled down on his plan to overhaul the election system. Following meetings with both Vladimir Putin in Alaska and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington, D.C., Trump reiterated his belief that voting machines and mail-in ballots undermine election integrity.
In a Truth Social post, he announced that he will lead a movement to eliminate both ahead of the 2026 midterms, promising to sign an executive order to restore “honesty” to U.S. elections. Trump wrote, “The mail-in ballot hoax, using voting machines that are a complete and total disaster, must end, NOW!”
The clash sparked strong reactions from conservatives, many of whom flooded comment sections blasting McBride’s rhetoric. Several pointed out that states like California and Illinois have long used gerrymandering to benefit Democrats, arguing that McBride’s outrage is selective.
Others alluded that election security concerns are legitimate and not an attack on democracy. Critics also pushed back on McBride’s identity, calling into question his credibility and accusing the left of using identity politics as a shield from criticism.
As one user responded bluntly: “Dude… your entire platform is built on identity politics. You demand everyone affirm your alternate reality and then pretend it has ‘nothing’ to do with your arguments. Some of us reject that. We live in the real world… one grounded in truth, not fantasy.”

Another added, “Your identity has always been important to you up to this point. In fact, you used your identity to win your seat. Why complain about it now?”
Dude, your entire life is a lie. You are a fraud. No one can take you seriously.

Many online pointed out that Fox News regularly includes descriptors like “Republican Senator” or “Democrat Governor” to give readers context, arguing that “transgender Democrat” is no different in that it communicates who McBride is and what he represents. Others noted that McBride’s reaction only served to highlight the ongoing double standard in left-wing identity politics.
You can sit down to pee in the ladies room all you want, but you’re still gonna need to have your prostate checked…and I never will.

“Your identity is fair game. If you’re going to use it to your advantage, it can be used against you,” another user wrote. “You’re not special!”
