Supporters Share Concern For Trump’s Health After ‘Dark Bruise’ Appears

More concerning marks on President Donald Trump’s right hand have appeared, prompting a new round of concerns about the 79-year-old’s health, even as aides say there’s nothing to see there.

Worries about Trump’s health began to mount on Monday where he appeared at a signing ceremony with what appeared to be mismatched makeup on the top of his right hand, the same location where months earlier he was spotted with coverup to hide bruising that White House officials attributed to chronic venous insufficiency, a swelling of the legs that can cause difficulty with sending blood back to the heart.

The sizable makeup mark appeared during Trump’s meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, which occurred one day after Trump was seen with the same shade of tan on his hand during a golf outing with former Major League pitcher Roger Clemens.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Sunday’s badly-tinted cover-up is “consistent” with irritation from Trump’s “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.” That explanation was echoed by Trump’s doctor, Sean Barbabella, and former doctor Ronny Jackson.

“Recent photos of the President have shown minor bruising on the back of his hand,” Dr. Barbabella explained to the Daily Mail.

“This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

“As President Trump’s former personal physician, former Physician to the President, and White House physician for 14 years across three administrations, I can tell you unequivocally: President Donald J. Trump is the healthiest president this nation has ever seen,” added Jackson.

Jackson, a former Republican congressman, also served under former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush.

“I continue to consult with his current physician and medical team at the White House and still spend significant time with the President. He is mentally and physically sharper than ever before,” he said.

Bruising on Trump’s hand may have extended to his ankles, some photos have shown.

Despite White House aides suggesting chronic venous insufficiency is a common and treatable condition among men of Trump’s age, the health episode is reminiscent of concerns raised about former President Joe Biden, who left office at 82 years old.

Seeking to stave off similar concerns about Trump, Leavitt explained the president had undergone a “comprehensive examination” that included “diagnostic vascular studies.”

“Bilateral, lower extremity ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency,” she explained in July. “The president remains in excellent health.”

Trump has bragged about his performance on health-related tests, including his annual exam in January at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that included a cognitive assessment.
