Trump Plans ‘Major’ Announcement After Weeks Of Health Rumors

Persistent rumors about President Donald Trump’s health have preceded a press conference on Monday that he is billing as a “major” announcement.

Whether the event quells curiosity about his health is uncertain. It will be the first time Trump has delivered public remarks since he held a Cabinet meeting that lasted a record 3 hours and 17 minutes.

Since then, the president has gone behind closed doors, an unusual schedule given Trump’s voracious desire to remain in the spotlight. He has stayed active on social media, however, posting late into the night on several occasions over the past week.

Wild conspiracies percolated suggesting Trump was dead or gravely unwell, even though photographers captured him golfing over the Labor Day weekend.

Details about the “exciting announcement” are scarce, but White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Daily Mail that it will relate in some way to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Trump has threatened that he has the power to send National Guard troops into other American cities where he claims crime is rampant. Some of his theoretical targets have included Chicago and Boston, both Democratic strongholds were local leaders have resisted his offer.

On Friday, the hashtag #whereistrump began to go viral, fueling speculation that he was ailing or deceased. It came after reporters noted that Trump had not been seen since his Cabinet meeting last Tuesday.

Concern was bolstered by conservative influencers like Alex Jones who asked his viewers to pray for Trump during a “health crisis.”

But on Sunday, Trump dispelled those rumors, writing on Truth Social that he has “never felt better in my life.”

The comment came in response to one by DC Draino, a conservative personality who skewered the mainstream media for failing to cover the multiple extended periods that former President Joe Biden went without a public appearance.

“President Trump puts in more public work hours than any other POTUS in US history and media freaks out if he disappears for 24 hours,” he said of the ‘comical double standard.

Rumors about Trump’s health kicked into high gear when Vice President J.D. Vance told USA Today that he is ready to step in as a temporary commander-in-chief “if there’s a terrible tragedy.”

Then on Sunday, Trump, 79, was seen golfing with his granddaughter, Kai, and her younger brother, Spencer.

White House aides have been accused online of releasing an old photo of the president golfing, but the Daily Mail noted that other outlets were able to snap photos of Trump at his Sterling, Virginia country club that day.
