Jasmine Crockett’s Political Future In Jeopardy After Getting Caught Red-Handed On Tape
With just a few utterances, “Squad” Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett virtually ensured she will never be palatable to voters if she chooses to seek higher office.
Democrats should nominate a “progressive Trump” in 2028 who unilaterally grants statehood to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, packs the U.S. Supreme Court, and abolishes the Electoral College, Crockett agreed over the weekend. The comments, made by an event host, came shortly after Crockett said she is mulling whether to run for another congressional district following Texas’s passage of a new electoral map for 2026.
Viral video circulating on X shows Crockett at a recent event where she listened intently as a host called for Democrats to adopt the left’s most radical positions over the past decade and take them straight into the White House.
“If you have power, use it,” the host said. “I would like a progressive Trump. I would like somebody who uses the executive pen to say, ‘You know what, we’re gonna make D.C. a state. We’re gonna make Puerto Rico a state.'”
“Yeah!” Crockett appears to agree. “Yeah.”
“We’re gonna abolish the Electoral College,” he went on, prompting more agreement from Crockett.
Another man off-screen chimes in, “We’re gonna add more judges on the Supreme Court!”
“Love that part,” Crockett replied. “And guardrails! And guardrails.”
WATCH:
Early polls about the 2028 election have shown Crockett climbing into the high single digits, underscoring her appeal among progressives eager to reshape the Democratic Party in their own image. Pugnacious candidates like Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have developed national followings with their campaigns for the White House, but their momentum fizzled out during the party’s primary season.
Notably, former Vice President Kamala Harris suffered mightily after the Trump campaign portrayed her as out of touch with regular Americans, citing her support for far-left positions as a candidate in California. Among them was her promise to advocate for taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery for inmates.
“Kamala is for they/them. Trump is for you,” blared one of the president’s most effective ads of the cycle.
Just as establishment Democrats try to drag their party back into the mainstream, figures like Crockett will row in the opposite direction. She’s drawn plenty of criticism for attacking Texas’ Republican Gov. Greg Abbott for using a wheelchair and First Lady Melania Trump’s intelligence.
But those close to Crockett are starting to speak out. Current and former aides have described her as a self-absorbed “monster” more interested in positive press coverage than making an impact in Washington. They have complained about her use of private black SUVs as well as her belittling of staff for the smallest of grievances, including a wrong lunch order.
