NEW: Joe Biden Spotted With ‘Massive’ Scar On His Head
Former President Joe Biden was seen with a “massive” scar on his head following a skin cancer procedure earlier this week, according to a report from the New York Post.
Biden, 82, was spotted Saturday as he exited St. Joseph’s Church for Saturday Mass in his home state of Delaware. Post reporters managed to snap an image of the “brutal gash,” which was previously covered with a bandage earlier this week.
Aides to the former president announced Monday that Biden recently underwent a procedure known as Mohs surgery, a specialized treatment for skin cancer. It is unclear what type of skin cancer Biden was afflicted by.
Mohs surgery traditionally obtains biopsies of the skin in extremely thin layers to examine them for the presence of cancerous or abnormal cells. Former First Lady Jill Biden underwent the same procedure in 2023 when she sought treatment for a cancerous cell cluster over her right eye.
The former president has sought treatment for skin cancer in the past. He last sought treatment for basal cell carcinoma in 2023 and had several non-melanoma skin cancers before his presidency.
The new photos of Biden obtained by the New York Post appear to indicate that his wound is healing. It is not clear when Biden received the surgery, though he had been spotted with the injury last month as well while attending the funeral of former Delaware Governor Mike Castle.

Back in May, the 46th president announced that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer that had metastasized in his bones. The president’s team announced that the cancer “appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.” The former president is currently receiving treatment.
Medical experts have noted that while his cancer may be manageable, it may never be fully cured. Others have questioned have such an advanced form of cancer could develop given the form president’s routine medical checkups and access to some of the world’s most advanced medical care while serving in the White House.
Dr. David Shusterman, a board certified urological surgeon who teaches urology to up-and-coming physicians, told NewsNation that the diagnosis was consistent with someone who had not received medical care for several years. “I have to say that in my expertise as a urologist, prostate cancer like this doesn’t come on just overnight. This happens over a long period of time. And typically you would see a PSA elevation, you would do a biopsy, and then you would do a treatment for the prostate cancer,” he said.
House Republicans have launched an investigation into the alleged cover-up surrounding former President Biden’s physical, and mental decline while in office. The House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed a number of senior aides, the former president’s personal physician and several others as part of the probe.
