NEW: Utah Governor Reveals Shooter’s Disturbing Message To Charlie Kirk

A series of disturbing messages left on the casings of rifle shells appear to lay out the motives of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect who authorities say turned himself in after killing Charlie Kirk.

Robinson, a student at Utah State University, is believed to be the individual on security footage seen climbing onto a roof at Utah Valley University near Salt Lake City, where a single round was fired from a hunting rifle, fatally striking Kirk, 31, in the neck.

Immediate reports from the scene suggested that some of the spent casings found on the roof contained anti-fascist and pro-transgender statements, but it wasn’t until a Friday morning press conference that Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed what authorities had found.

Casings found with the rifle had been “engraved” with enigmatic messages, some clearer than others, which indicated a hatred for President Donald Trump and his supporters like Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, the nation’s largest organization for young conservatives.

“Inscriptions on a fired casing read ‘notices, bulges, capital O-W-O, what’s this?'” Cox announced.

“Inscriptions on the three unfired casings read ‘Hey fascist! Catch!’ Up-arrow symbol, right-arrow symbol, and three down-arrow symbols.”

“A second unfired casing read ‘O bella ciao, bella ciao bella ciao ciao ciao, and a third unfired casing read ‘If you read this you are gay LMAO.'”

“I think that speaks for itself,” the governor says.

The 19th-century Italian folksong “Bella ciao” was later adapted and dedicated to Italian resistance fighters who fought against the Nazi occupation of their country during World War II. The phrase “Notices bulges OWO what’s this?” is one used to troll others in online gameplay, the NYT reported.

Cox said authorities will be seeking the death penalty for Robinson.

“Over the last 48 hours, I have been as angry as I have ever been,” Cox said, growing emotional.

FBI Director Kash Patel spoke next and thanked President Trump for giving him the sweeping authority to catch Robinson within 33 hours — a “historic” arrest time, he said.

“In less than 36 hours – 33 to be precise – thanks to the full weight of the federal government and leading out with the partners here in the state of Utah and Gov. Cox, the suspect was apprehended in historic time,” FBI Director Kash Patel announced Friday.

“Forensic evidence has already been evaluated,” Patel explained, searching fingerprints and sidearm prints against 11,000 possible matches.

Investigators are continuing to compile evidence in support of Robinson’s alleged admission that he committed the assassination. A roommate who spoke with FBI agents showed them messages from a Discord chat where the 22-year-old spoke about going to retrieve a rifle.

“The content of these included messages affiliated with the contact Tyler, stating a need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in a bush, messages related to visually watching the area where a rifle was left, and a message referring to having left the rifle wrapped in a towel,” Cox detailed, per CNN.
