Relatives Reveal Why Kirk Shooter’s Trans Lover Was Kicked Out Of Parents’ Home
The transgender lover of Tyler Robinson was spiraling into a dark web of drugs and indolence before his parents kicked him out of their house and into the arms of a suspected mass shooter.
Lance Twiggs, who remains under investigation, was living with Robinson, 22, when he allegedly opened fire on a Utah college campus on Sept. 10, killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Authorities believe both men were delving deeply into an online world of transgender activism, video games, and ideations of violence.
A family member who spoke with Fox News described Twiggs as struggling with gender identity disorder and addictions to drugs and video games, leading his parents to give him an ultimatum: grow up and get a job, or move out.
Shortly afterward, Twiggs moved into a townhome in St. George, Utah, after being kicked out by his father, the relative explained. The 22-year-old was public about trying to transition from male to female and had been living away from his parents since he was 18, the source added.
It was in southwestern Utah where Twiggs met Robinson, a Utah State dropout who also struggled with a video game addiction and was pursuing his electrical engineering degree at a technical college.
Robinson was charged on Tuesday with a litany of crimes stemming from Kirk’s death. He allegedly confessed to his parents, who convinced him to turn himself in rather than take his own life.
“[His father] thought he wasn’t being respectful and was problematic, so they kicked him out,” the relative said about Twiggs. “He then lived with [his grandparents] until he was 18 and graduated from high school.”

The woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Twiggs grappled for years with his “gender identity.”
“But the real reason he was acting out was because he was using drugs and alcohol, and was addicted to gaming,” she said.
According to the woman, Twiggs’s mother had “always tried to put on the act that he had changed.”
“He moved into a townhome and paid full rent, and there were other college roommates at the time,” the relative explained.
After settling in the townhome, Twiggs first met Robinson, who went from roommate to romancer in a matter of months.
“He was maintaining a job and able to pay rent, and was technically an adult,” she told Fox News Digital. “The other college roommates eventually all moved out, and [he] stayed and Tyler became his roommate.”
Prosecutors argued in court filings that Robinson left behind a message to Twiggs suggesting he killed Kirk to “protect” him from anti-transgender activism. FBI Director Kash Patel has confirmed that an online Discord chat of activists, including Robinson, is being investigated to determine if anyone else conspired to kill Kirk.
