President Trump, Elon Musk Make Amends At Charlie Kirk’s Funeral
President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk sat next to each other in the president’s booth during Charlie Kirk’s funeral service in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday.
Musk was among the more than 200,000 Americans who traveled to Phoenix on Sunday in order to honor Kirk. “Our friend Charlie Kirk getting murdered in cold blood this week, and people on the left celebrating it openly. The left is the party of murder. You see how much violence there’s on the left,” the X, SpaceX and Tesla chief said during an interview earlier this week.
Musk later took to X to express how moved he was by the showing of support for Kirk’s memory from all corners of the country. “Every seat in this giant arena that isn’t roped off for security is packed to the ceiling. Honored to be here,” he wrote alongside a video of the capacity crowd at State Farm Stadium. “All for Charlie Kirk.”
Midway through the service, Musk was seen chatting and shaking hands with President Trump in the presidential booth. He later posted a picture of the two influential leaders talking with the caption, “For Charlie.”
The White House later posted a photo from a different angle with an almost identical caption.

Once staunch allies, Trump and Musk had a falling out earlier this year after the latter abruptly exited the White House after heading up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative for the first several months of the president’s second term in office.
Tensions boiled over back in June, when Musk spoke out against the Trump-backed Big Beautiful Bill. The conflict became extremely intense when Musk accused Trump of being on the “Epstein list,” while Trump threatened to pull contracts from Musk’s companies.
The tech billionaire later apologized for his remarks, however, while Trump stated that he wished his former ally well. Musk still floated with opposing the Trump Administration in July, when he suggested that he would be starting his own political party, though this never materialized.
Despite differences, Musk has still backed Trump and the conservative movement on a number of key issues over the last several weeks, particularly on immigration policy.
News of the reconciliation was overwhelmingly welcomed by President Trump’s supporters on social media. Many pointed to an earlier statement from Charlie Kirk, who predicted that the two men would make amends when the feud was raging.
“I actually think they are going to reconcile at some point because, deep down, they both want the same thing…..Both of these men deserve great credit for their contributions to help save civilization,” the late Kirk said back in June.
In what was arguably the most powerful moment of Sunday’s service, Erika Kirk brought the capacity crowd to tears when she said she is willing to forgive the man who murdered her husband. The message of faith appeared to resonate with Musk, who shared a line from the Lord’s Prayer shortly after the service concluded.
After the event, Musk was seen mingling with Trump and senior cabinet officials, while his America PAC uploaded a photo of the SpaceX CEO comforting Erika outside the venue.
