REPORT: Florida Teen Wearing MAGA Hat Abducted By ‘Hispanics’ After Allegedly Being Shot

Florida police have issued a statewide “amber alert” in search of a 17-year-old who went missing following a shooting where witnesses say he was abducted while wearing a red Make America Great Again hat, raising questions about whether the attack was politically motivated.

Caden Speight is believed to be a victim in a Thursday evening shooting in Dunellon, Marion County, about 80 miles outside of Orlando.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement stated that officers arrived at the scene of the shooting near Marion County Airport, where they located Speight’s vehicle, idling without its owner.

An amber alert described Speight as 6′ tall, about 150 pounds, and wearing a dark t-shirt and jeans. He was last seen in the 12800 block of SW Highway 84 in Dunnelion. Speight is originally from Citrus County.

Local media reports indicate that Speight may have been wearing the trademark pro-Trump cap when he went missing.

“Caden may be in the company of four unknown males, possibly Hispanic,” the FDLE said in a statement.

“They may be traveling in a light-colored van. If located, DO NOT APPROACH. Contact law enforcement immediately.”

Police believe Speight may be wounded and in danger. His car was found with evidence of gunfire.

A helicopter search scoured the area all night with no sign of Speight. Hospital records do not list a victim matching his description, authorities told The Ocala StarBanner.

In a desperate Facebook post, Speight’s sister pleads with his captors to release her brother.

“God I just want him home. I can’t sleep eat or do anything not knowing where he is and if he is safe. Please don’t stop searching or looking. There is still little to no information on what happened or where he could be. I don’t understand why this has happened. Just bring him home,” she wrote.

It’s unclear if Speight left the scene of the shooting voluntarily or was abducted, The Independent reported.

Investigators also remain uncertain about how the four suspects came into contact with Speight.

The force said, “If you have any information on the whereabouts of this child, please contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.”

Evidence suggests that the shooting and possible abduction took place around 4 p.m. on Thursday night. Several hours later, a statewide Amber Alert was issued.

Florida authorities have classified Speight’s disappearance as a high-priority case given the circumstances of his disappearance.

Another investigative reporter studying the case reported that Speight is a “big supporter of Donald Trump and MAGA.”

“His parents claim they received a text from him yesterday at 4pm saying he was shot & needed help. Also mentioned 4 Hispanics and a van.”
