Location Announced For Trump Presidential Library
Officials in Florida decided to set aside a total of three acres of prime real estate in downtown Miami for President Donald Trump’s presidential library.
Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, along with the Florida Cabinet, voted to give the parcel, which is valued at $66 million, to the foundation that is currently in the process of planning the post-administration archive for the Trump era, stating the property owned by the Miami-Dade College would provide a “greater benefit to the public” and “increase economic development activities” as the president’s library.
A number of fancy condos flank the property, which overlooks the waterfront park and is across the street from the arena where the Miami Heat NBA team plays. Currently, the property is used as an employee parking lot for Miami-Dade College.
Florida’s constitution stipulates that the gifting of state property requires approval by a collective decision-making body comprising the attorney general, the chief financial officer, the commissioner of agriculture, and the governor.
The conveyance of the property provides the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation, Inc., with control over it. The foundation is led by three trustees: Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump’s husband, Michael Boulos, and Trump’s lawyer, James Kiley.

“It will be the greatest Presidential Library ever built, honoring the greatest President,” Eric Trump went on to say in a social media post.
“The site is also adjacent to Freedom Tower, the historic Spanish Revival building that housed one of Miami’s first newspapers before serving as a resource center for hundreds of thousands of Cubans who fled communism and sought asylum in the United States. It is now a museum for the college,” The Western Journal reported.
Several previous locations associated with the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and Florida International University, located in suburban Miami, were also considered as possible sites for the library.
Earlier in the year, Gov. DeSantis signed legislation that prevented local governments from blocking the development of the presidential library. The move was aimed at overruling any future opposition from left-leaning counties and municipalities.
In the 2024 presidential election, then-GOP nominee Donald Trump pulled in a large number of Cuban American voters. This particular demographic dominates politics in the city of Miami, which contributed greatly to his victory in the state.
