NEW: Treasury Considers Minting Dollar Coins Featuring Trump’s Face
The Treasury Department is weighing plans to mint a Donald Trump $1 coin as part of next year’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday, a spokesperson confirmed Friday.
The preliminary design, developed under the guidance of U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach, features Trump’s profile on one side. The reverse shows him with a raised fist before an American flag, emblazoned with the words: “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.”

“Despite the radical left’s forced shutdown of our government, the facts are clear: Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is entering its 250th anniversary stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever before,” a Treasury spokesperson said. The official added: “While a final $1 dollar coin design has not yet been selected to commemorate the United States’ semiquincentennial, this first draft reflects well the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles.”
The idea dates back to bipartisan legislation that Trump signed in 2020, which authorized the Treasury Secretary to release commemorative $1 coins in 2026. By law, the design must be “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial.”
Beach, who oversees the U.S. Mint, echoed the announcement on X. “More soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over,” he posted Friday.
If adopted, the Trump coin would mark one of the most unique commemoratives in U.S. history, blending the semiquincentennial celebration with the legacy of the 45th and 47th President.
