Illegal Alien Stabs Two Teens With A Fork On Flight Out Of Chicago
A Lufthansa jet bound for Germany was forced into an emergency landing after a man allegedly snapped mid-flight and attacked two teenagers with a metal fork, federal prosecutors said.
The Chicago-to-Frankfurt trip on Oct. 25 veered to Boston Logan International Airport after the violent outburst on Flight 431, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts.
Authorities have charged 28-year-old Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, an Indian national, with assault with a dangerous weapon aboard an aircraft. Prosecutors say he was traveling without legal immigration status after previously coming to the U.S. on a student visa and enrolling in a master’s program in biblical studies.
Charging documents say the chaos erupted shortly after meal service. A 17-year-old passenger reportedly woke from a light sleep to find Usiripalli looming over him — and was then stabbed in the left clavicle with a metal fork. Moments later, the suspect allegedly lunged at another 17-year-old in a nearby seat, striking the teen in the back of the head with the same utensil. The second victim suffered a cut on his head, prosecutors said.

Cabin crew rushed in, only to watch Usiripalli escalate his bizarre behavior. Prosecutors say he raised his hand in the shape of a gun, stuck his fingers in his mouth, and mimed firing. He then allegedly slapped a woman across the face and made a move to strike a flight attendant.
The disturbance forced the pilots to divert to Boston, where law enforcement boarded the plane and hauled Usiripalli off in cuffs, officials said.
Usiripalli is set to appear in federal court in Boston. He faces one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to cause bodily harm while on an aircraft under U.S. jurisdiction.
