BREAKING: John Fetterman Hospitalized After Suffering Medical Emergency

Sen. John Fetterman was hospitalized Thursday morning after collapsing near his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, his office confirmed.

“During an early morning walk, Senator Fetterman sustained a fall near his home in Braddock,” his spokesperson said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, he was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh.”

Doctors determined that the Pennsylvania Democrat experienced a ventricular fibrillation flare-up—a serious irregular heart rhythm—that caused him to feel light-headed and fall, hitting his face and suffering minor injuries.

“Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries,” the statement said.

Fetterman, who has battled health issues since a near-fatal stroke during his 2022 campaign, tried to keep things light. “If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!” he joked.

The senator is said to be in stable condition and is remaining in the hospital voluntarily while doctors adjust his medication.

“He is doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital. He has opted to stay so doctors can fine-tune his medication regimen,” his spokesperson added. “Senator Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care.”

The incident marks another health scare for the 55-year-old lawmaker, who returned to the Senate last year after a lengthy stay in a psychiatric facility for clinical depression.
