ICE Arrests Terror-Tied Illegal Alien Driving 18-Wheeler In Red State

Federal immigration authorities have nabbed a wanted terror suspect from Uzbekistan who slipped into the U.S., landed a trucking job, and even secured a Pennsylvania commercial driver’s license in a case that is likely to fuel growing public outrage over illegal aliens operating heavy rigs on American highways.

The Department of Homeland Security said ICE agents arrested 31-year-old Akhror Bozorov in Kansas on Nov. 9. Uzbekistan issued a warrant for his arrest in 2022, accusing him of belonging to a terrorist group, spreading jihadist propaganda online, and recruiting others to join the movement.

Bozorov’s case comes as more Americans voice concern about states issuing commercial driver’s licenses to migrants with questionable backgrounds. Polls now show a clear majority saying unvetted foreign nationals should never be behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler.

Despite those worries, Bozorov was living and working freely in the U.S. His CDL was issued in Pennsylvania under Gov. Josh Shapiro, and the Biden administration granted him work authorization in January 2024.

“Not only was Akhror Bozorov—a wanted terrorist—RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration, but he was he was also given a commercial driver’s license by Governor Shapiro’s Pennsylvania. This should go without saying, but terrorist illegal aliens should not be operating 18-wheelers on America’s highways,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said.

“Biden and Mayorkas allowed countless terrorists to come into our country. President Trump and Secretary Noem unleashed ICE to target these national security threats.”

Bozorov first crossed illegally into the U.S. in February 2023. Border Patrol arrested him, but he was later released into the country under Biden administration policies. ICE says he is now in custody pending removal.
