Police Launch Investigation After Star Actor Dies At 33
Spencer Lofranco, the Canadian actor who broke out in “Jamesy Boy” and later starred in the mob biopic “Gotti,” has died at 33.
Authorities in British Columbia are investigating the circumstances of his death, TMZ reported. No cause has been released.
His brother, Santino Lofranco, confirmed the news in a raw Instagram post Thursday, mourning the actor as both a sibling and a larger-than-life figure.
“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother,” he wrote. “You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed people lives [sic], and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.”
Lofranco’s final Instagram post came just a week earlier, a black-and-white selfie paired with a note hinting he was getting a face tattoo removed.
The Toronto-born actor launched his film career in 2013 with the romantic comedy “At Middleton,” appearing alongside Andy Garcia, Vera Farmiga and Taissa Farmiga.

A year later, he landed the lead in “Jamesy Boy,” playing ex-con James Burns in a gritty biopic directed by Trevor White. The cast featured Taissa Farmiga, Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames, and James Woods.
Lofranco later scored a key role in Kevin Connolly’s “Gotti,” the 2018 film chronicling New York mob boss John Gotti. John Travolta played the Teflon Don, while Lofranco portrayed his son, John Gotti Jr. Travolta’s late wife, Kelly Preston, appeared as Victoria DiGiorgio Gotti.
His other credits included Angelina Jolie’s World War II drama “Unbroken,” the 2015 short film “Home,” and the Southern crime drama “Dixieland.”
