BREAKING: New Jail Cell Footage Appears To Show Epstein Attempting To Take His Life
Shocking footage posted on the Department of Justice website appears to show Jeffrey Epstein attempting to take his own life, raising fresh questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
A 2023 DOJ report blamed “negligence and misconduct,” along with problems with surveillance cameras, as contributing factors in Epstein’s death. But the newly surfaced clip suggests at least one camera was functioning, undercutting claims that video monitoring had completely failed.
The footage was uncovered by journalist Nick Sortor as the Trump administration publicly released the so-called “Epstein files,” a trove of records that has reignited scrutiny of how the convicted sex offender died while in federal custody.
Back in 2019, then-Attorney General Bill Barr publicly referenced security footage but made no mention of any video from inside Epstein’s cell, according to a New York Times report.
“[Barr] said that he personally reviewed security camera footage showing that no one entered the area where Mr. Epstein was housed on the night he died,” the New York Times reported at the time.
