Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., is under investigation by federal prosecutors after appearing in a video with fellow Democrats urging members of the military and intelligence community not to follow illegal orders, her office confirmed Tuesday.

Slotkin told The New York Times she learned of the probe from the office of Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. Her office confirmed her account to NBC News but offered no further details.

“Facts matter little, but the threat matters quite a bit,” Slotkin told the Times. “The threat of legal action; the threat to your family; the threat to your staff; the threat to you.”

Slotkin, a former CIA officer who served in Iraq, is the second lawmaker tied to the video to face scrutiny after its release in November.

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., a retired Navy captain and astronaut, sued Monday over Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s move to censure and demote him for what the Defense Department labeled “seditious statements” in the video. Kelly called the Pentagon’s action “unlawful and unconstitutional.”

President Trump previously blasted the Democrats in the video, accusing them of “seditious behavior.” In November, he said their actions were “punishable by death,” then later walked back the remarks, saying he was not threatening them with death but believed they were “in serious trouble.”

Other participants in the video included Reps. Chris Deluzio and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, and Jason Crow of Colorado. The now-infamous group has been dubbed the “seditious six.

After Trump’s comments, Slotkin said she received immediate threats and that Capitol Police informed her she would be placed under 24/7 security.

Pirro, a Trump ally, also recently launched an investigation into Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
