JUST IN: DHS Reveals Identities Of Attackers Who Caused Second ICE Shooting In Minnesota

Authorities identified three illegal immigrants involved in a Wednesday night attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent that ended with the agent shooting one suspect in the leg.

The Department of Homeland Security blamed the Biden administration for allowing all three men into the country.

The suspect ICE agents were trying to arrest, Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, illegally entered the U.S. from Venezuela in August 2022, DHS said. He was shot in the leg during the confrontation.

Sosa-Celis has a prior conviction for driving without a license and was arrested twice for giving a false name to a peace officer, according to DHS. Officials said Minnesota authorities released him before ICE could place a detainer.

DHS identified Alfredo Alejandro Ajorna and Gabriel Alejandro Hernandez-Ledezma as the two men who emerged from a nearby apartment and attacked the federal agent with a snow shovel and a broom handle while the agent was attempting to arrest Sosa-Celis.

The incident began as a routine traffic stop. Officials said Sosa-Celis crashed his vehicle into another car and ran as the agent tried to take him into custody.

“Fearing for his life and safety as he was ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired a defensive shot to defend his life,” DHS said.

DHS officials accused Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz of “actively encouraging an organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers.”

Frey later described the situation in the city as “not sustainable” while calling ICE’s conduct “intolerable.”

“And for anyone taking the bait tonight, stop. It is not helpful,” Frey wrote on X. “We cannot respond to Donald Trump’s chaos with our own chaos.”
