BREAKING: Popular Conservative Media Personality Launches Run For Governor
Oregon-based conservative media personality David Medina, founder of Oregonians for America (OFA) Media, announced a run for governor on Benny Johnson’s show Monday. Medina filed to run for Governor on January 14.
With his announcement, Medina has entered the Republican primary race, where he is expected to run to the right of fellow Oregon Republican, Senator Christine Drazan. Drazan is a veteran in state politics, having lost a close battle with now-Governor Tina Kotek in 2022.
Drazan received millions in funding from Nike co-founder Phil Knight in that cycle.

Kotek beat out Drazan by just 3.6% in that election.
The Democratic Party of Oregon was quick to comment on Medina’s entry into the race.
“Conspiracy theories and extremism clearly have a safe home in the Oregon GOP,” the party wrote. “Oregon Republican, January 6er and right-wing conspiracy theorist David Medina just filed to run for Governor. Stay tuned!”
Oregon Democrats have posted about only one other GOP candidate this cycle, which could give Medina’s nascent campaign some early fodder. Marion County Commissioner Danielle Bethell and other Republicans seeking the nomination have yet to find a place on the Democrats’ radar.
