BREAKING: New Footage Emerges Of Alex Pretti Assaulting Federal Agents

Newly-released footage shows Alex Pretti, the Minneapolis-based anti-ICE agitator who was shot and killed while attempting to draw a weapon on federal agents last weekend, clashing with and assaulting federal agents in the days leading up to the shooting.

The footage, which was initially reported by The News Movement and verified by the BBC, shows Pretti shouting at federal agents while they were conducting an immigration enforcement operation. He then rushed towards a federal vehicle and proceeded to kick it, shattering the back taillight.

Agents then tossed Pretti, who was wearing a similar outfit as the day of the shooting,  to the ground. The incident occurred 11 days before the fatal shooting on January 24.

Pretti also appeared to be armed with a firearm at the time of the January 13 incident. He was also armed with a 9mm handgun on the day of the shooting and attempted to reach for it — failing to do so and only grabbing a backup magazine — when he was shot.

The News Movement reported that facial recognition technology used by the BBC confirmed the video with 97 percent accuracy.

The bombshell footage lines up with prior reporting from CNN, which indicated that Pretti was well known to federal agents due to previous violent encounters and agitation.

According to the report, federal officials had recently circulated an intake form among agents operating in Minneapolis during the Department of Homeland Security’s “Metro Surge” immigration enforcement initiative. The form was designed to collect identifying information on individuals who interfered with or confronted federal agents during operations.

A source told CNN that Pretti was “known” to federal agents and that his name had been entered into a federal data base prior to the shooting.

The outlet further reported that Pretti was in a “violent confrontation” with federal agents that left him with a broken rib. Pretti was not detained, and it is unknown whether the violent confrontation documented by The News Media was the same incident or a separate one.

Pretti was shot and killed on January 24 when he assaulted federal agents during an immigration enforcement operation. As agents were attempting to detain a fellow agitator, Pretti placed his hands on an agent and attempted to help the detained individual escape.

A struggle then ensued between Pretti and at least five federal agents. Footage shows Pretti repeatedly reaching for his waistband, where he was carrying a 9mm handgun, during the struggle.

Ana agent can then be heard yelling “gun” as Pretti again reached down, appearing to draw a backup magazine after he was seemingly disarmed by another agent a second earlier, before he was shot.

The agents involved have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, which is consistent with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy concerning deadly force incidents.
