NEW: Dem Official Resigns After Screaming Vulgar Slurs At Women Taking Pic With Federal Agents

A local Democratic Party official caught on video hurling obscenities at two women during a protest over federal raids at Zipps Sports Grill has apologized and resigned his party post, while also losing his job.

Mark Holodnak, the former treasurer for the Legislative District 12 Democrats, stepped down after footage spread rapidly online showing him screaming vulgar insults at two young women during a protest outside a Zipps location in the Ahwatukee Foothills. He was later fired from his position at a Phoenix-based real estate firm after conservative activists identified him and publicized his actions.

The confrontation unfolded Jan. 26 at one of 14 Zipps Sports Grill locations targeted in federal immigration raids. Video shows protesters initially watching immigration authorities before turning their attention to two unidentified women whom the crowd accused of taking selfies with law enforcement officers.

A man later identified as Holodnak appears to lead the group toward the women, holding up his phone as they sat on the ground. The footage shows him following them toward a gated area near the restaurant while shouting profanities.

“You little (expletive expletive),” Holodnak yelled, using a profane term for a woman’s genitals. He repeated the insult as the women retreated, while protesters surrounded them, raised their phones and continued berating them. The women eventually entered a secured area connected to the restaurant and closed the gate behind them.

The video was recorded and posted on X on Jan. 26 by R.C. Maxwell, a conservative writer for RedState.com and an executive committee member-at-large for the Maricopa County Republican Committee. Maxwell has also worked with Project Veritas and serves as a digital adviser and ballot chaser for Turning Point Action, the conservative group founded by the late Charlie Kirk.

Maxwell, who lives in Ahwatukee, learned about the nearby protest on social media and went to the Zipps location to document what was happening. He said he did not see the women taking selfies.

“I think it’s important for Americans to see the true nature of these protests and the radical networks behind them,” he told The Arizona Republic.

The footage quickly ricocheted across conservative social media, including accounts such as Libs of TikTok and conservative media personality Alex Jones.

Online users soon identified the man in the video as Holodnak, who at the time served on the executive committee of the Democratic Party organization representing Ahwatukee, west Chandler, and southwest Tempe.

One site that published Holodnak’s name and photo while urging followers to “give his boss a call” racked up 1.2 million views on social media.

Users also flagged Holodnak as an employee of HomeSmart, a Phoenix-based real estate company. The firm later responded publicly to multiple posts on X, confirming his termination.

“The agent has been terminated and is no longer affiliated with HomeSmart,” the company said in part.
