BREAKING: Armed Man Shot And Killed At Mar-A-Lago
An armed man was shot and killed by law enforcement in the early hours of the morning Sunday after he unlawfully entered the secure perimeter of President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
The intruder, described as a male in his 20’s, was armed with a shotgun and a fuel can when he attempted to enter the property around 1:30 a.m., Eastern Time. He was then shot and killed by U.S. Secret Service agents and a deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), according to a press release from the U.S. Secret Service.
No U.S. Secret Service or PBSO personnel were injured as a result of the incident, and no Secret Service protectees present at the location.
“The incident, including the individual’s background, actions, potential motive, and the use of force, is under investigation by the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office,” the Secret Service announced. In accordance with agency policy, the agents involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave pending review.

During a brief press conference, Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw confirmed that two Secret Service agents and one deputy confronted the individual at the property’s front gate. He was instructed to drop the weapon, at which point the suspect — described as a white male — raised the shotgun to a shooting position.
At that point, the agents and the deputy opened fire, and the suspect is deceased at the scene as of this report. Bradshaw also provided a photo of the weapon and the gas can.
The FBI is leading the investigation and has asked any individuals with security or doorbell cameras around the property to check for any potential clues. No details on a motive, or the suspect’s identity, are available as of this report.

The incident comes just weeks after would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh was sentenced to life in prison in connection with an attempt on Trump’s life in September 2024.
Routh, a former roofer and activist who had supported Ukraine in the Russo-Ukrainian War, hid in shrubbery along the fence line of the Trump International Golf Club, located not far from Mar-A-Lago in West Palm Beach. A U.S. Secret Service agent spotted him pointing the weapon and opened fire, at which point Routh fled the scene.
He was soon apprehended in nearby Martin County and ultimately charged federally with five counts, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assault on a federal officer, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
Routh represented himself in court and was sentenced to life in prison on February 4.
In addition to the Routh attempt, Mar-A-Lago has been the site of a number of security incidents over the years, the majority of which have involved crazed protesters or other individuals who were not armed. Investigators also uncovered a suspicious hunting stand set up outside Palm Beach International Airport last year.
