‘STFU’: KISS Rocker Gene Simmons Torches Liberal Actor Ben Stiller

KISS frontman Gene Simmons had a blunt message for Hollywood stars weighing in on politics: “shut the f— up.”

Simmons ripped celebrities like Ben Stiller and Mark Ruffalo in comments to TMZ, dismissing actors who have criticized President Donald Trump over U.S. military action against Iran and questioning why anyone should treat their political opinions as gospel.

Asked Tuesday whether it was “fair” for actors to slam Trump’s decisions, Simmons responded with a jab aimed straight at the entertainment class.

“Because everybody in the world should listen to what actors and comedians say because they’re so qualified.”

Then he unloaded.

“Basically, shut the f— up,” Simmons told TMZ. “Do your art and shut up. Nobody’s interested in your opinions, that includes me. Who I vote for. Who I like.”

He continued with an even sharper blast at the celebrity lifestyle and the lecturing tone that often comes with it.

“Who the f— do you think you are? People in America work hard for a living, and they don’t want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls-Royces. It’s time for everybody in the entertainment industry to shut their piehole and just do your art. Nobody cares what you think. I don’t.”

Simmons also mocked Ruffalo, mispronouncing his name as “Mark Buffalo,” and repeated that he does not care what stars think about war policy.

The clip ended with Simmons suggesting that if the public is supposed to follow celebrity guidance on foreign affairs, reporters might as well broaden the roster.

“Or go to Kylie Jenner and ask her what she thinks of the war so far,” Simmons joked.

Representatives for Ruffalo and Stiller did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Simmons’ remarks land as Hollywood figures have openly criticized Trump’s Iran campaign, while other public names have praised the administration for hitting the regime hard. Simmons, for his part, has generally avoided making his own politics the main event, and has increasingly criticized the push to turn every conversation into a partisan loyalty test.

Simmons and KISS were honored at the Kennedy Center in December by Trump. Simmons has said he has known Trump “on and off” for decades.

In a separate interview in December, Simmons made clear he doesn’t believe political probing should be part of everyday life.

“It’s nobody’s business who you support,” Simmons said on CNN’s “Inside Politics.” “Nowadays, people engage in, ‘So are you pro or,’ and my first question is, ‘Who the f— are you? Who are you?’ Since when does who I support or not support is the business of anyone except my conscience?”

He added, “But literally, have a sense of humor. Take a pill, shut up and stop worrying what your next-door neighbor believes or doesn’t believe. It’s their America too.”
