NEW: Trump Hints At Coalition Forming To Protect Vital Shipping Routes From Iran

President Donald Trump stated in a new social media post that several countries are expected to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz to help maintain open and safe passage for shipping through the strategic waterway. The comments were made amid ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has disrupted commercial traffic in the strait.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. It serves as a critical route for global oil transportation, with approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passing through it under normal conditions.

Disruptions in the area can significantly impact energy markets and international trade. While U.S. and Israeli forces continue to strike Iranian targets, Trump indicated that other countries may soon join offensive operations.

“Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe,” the president announced in a Truth Social post on Saturday.

“Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated,” he added.

In a subsequent post on the same day, Trump expanded on the appeal. “The United States of America has beaten and completely decimated Iran, both Militarily, Economically, and in every other way, but the Countries of the World that receive Oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage, and we will help — A LOT!”

He reiterated that “One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!”

The remarks followed reports of Iranian actions that have restricted or threatened shipping in the strait, including attacks on vessels and a de facto blockade affecting commercial traffic. Trump described these as an “attempted closure” and referenced Iran’s diminished military capacity following U.S. and allied operations.

He stressed that while the U.S. would provide substantial assistance, nations reliant on the strait for oil imports should contribute to securing it.
