NEW: Predatory Illegal Immigrant Arrested By Alabama GOP Candidate In Major Sting
A local police training in Alabama turned into a major bust Friday, with five men hauled off to jail on human trafficking charges after an undercover sting tied to a group led by a GOP Senate hopeful.
The Wedowee Police Department partnered with Covenant Rescue Group (CRG) for anti-human trafficking training that ended in a 17-hour operation and multiple arrests, officials said.
CRG was founded by Jared Hudson, a former Navy SEAL now running in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Alabama.
Authorities identified the suspects as Jody Michael Crenshaw, 55, Rocael Marroquin, 21, Chad Marion Dickerson, 37, Damyon Jamal Person, 22, and Joseph Cardale Eagland, 30. All five are being held at the Randolph County Jail.
Hudson took a victory lap on X after the arrests, pointing to one suspect in particular.
“This is an illegal immigrant who targeted women in Cullman, Alabama,” he wrote alongside a video showing a mugshot of the individual.
“I’m a former Navy SEAL and the founder of Covenant Rescue Group, and we helped arrest this man and get him off the streets. While politicians in Washington argue about funding and go on TV, we’re out here doing the work and putting criminals in handcuffs.”
“Alabama doesn’t need more talk in the Senate, it needs someone who has actually done the job by hand,” Hudson finished.

According to jail records, Crenshaw, Dickerson, Eagland, and Person are each charged with two counts of first-degree human trafficking, soliciting a child by computer, and traveling to meet a minor.
Marroquin faces four counts of first-degree human trafficking, along with two counts of electronic solicitation of a minor and two counts of traveling to meet a minor.
Covenant Rescue Group describes itself as an anti-human trafficking nonprofit that trains law enforcement and conducts operations aimed at protecting children and local communities. Officials said agencies from across Randolph County took part in the training, which culminated in the lengthy undercover sting.
