Trump Shares First Reaction To SCOTUS Birthright Citizenship Hearing
President Donald Trump offered his first public reaction after sitting in on Supreme Court arguments over his birthright citizenship executive order Wednesday, blasting the long-standing policy in a post after leaving the courthouse.
“We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow ‘Birthright’ Citizenship!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Trump attended the hearing for more than an hour and stayed through Solicitor General John Sauer’s argument, according to sources in the room. Trump arrived about 10 minutes before the session began and remained for Sauer’s presentation, which lasted 65 minutes.
He then stayed briefly as the case shifted to the other side, remaining for seven minutes of argument from ACLU legal director Cecillia Wang’s reply, the sources said.

Trump did not speak during the session, as Supreme Court rules require, and left without taking questions from reporters.
The high court heard arguments on whether Trump’s order can end automatic citizenship for certain children born in the United States to parents who are in the country illegally. Oral arguments concluded Wednesday after Sauer delivered a closing statement following Wang’s rebuttal.
