‘FINAL STRAW’: Trump’s Stunning Reason For Firing Pam Bondi Is Revealed
Pam Bondi’s run as attorney general came to a sudden and dramatic end Thursday, with the former top law enforcement official pleading with President Donald Trump to keep her job before being shown the door.
Trump fired Bondi, marking the second cabinet shake-up in less than a month, following mounting controversy that included fallout over the handling of the Epstein files.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will step in as acting attorney general while the White House searches for a permanent replacement.
The president delivered the news shortly before his prime-time address on the Iran war, according to a senior administration source cited by the Daily Mail.
Bondi pushed back in the moment, urging Trump to reconsider and give her more time in the role. It didn’t work.
“She was unhappy and tried to change his mind,” the source said.
Trump held firm, telling her the decision was final and that a public announcement was imminent. That rollout, initially planned for Friday, was accelerated after media leaks and speculation spread overnight.
Behind the scenes, frustration had been building. One major issue: Trump’s belief that Bondi tipped off Rep. Eric Swalwell about an FBI effort to release documents tied to his past relationship with alleged Chinese spy Christine Fang.

Federal investigators had been preparing a batch of records connected to Swalwell when concerns were raised inside the White House.
“She’s intervening in those matters. The White House wasn’t pleased she was intervening due to her personal friendship with Swalwell,” the source added.
Why Bondi would step in remains unclear, though she and Swalwell are believed to have maintained a friendly relationship. The California Democrat has been a frequent critic of Bondi during her tenure, including over her handling of threats made against him and his family.
Just a day earlier, Bondi was still at Trump’s side, traveling with him to the Supreme Court for arguments in the birthright citizenship case and attending his national address on Iran.
By that evening, her tenure was over.
