Rock Legend Passes Away At 38
Bo Lueders, the guitarist for pioneering hardcore band Harm’s Way, has died at 38.
The band announced Lueders’ death in a somber Instagram post, calling him a beloved friend and bandmate and saying he “will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage.”
No cause of death was released. In the same post, the group shared the 988 suicide and crisis lifeline for anyone “struggling with depression or urges to self-harm.”
A GoFundMe organized by Lueders’ “HardLore” podcast co-host Colin Young to help cover memorial costs in Chicago described him as “Beloved to the world.”
Born Bohan Daniel Lueders in November 1987, he co-founded Harm’s Way in 2006 as a side project of the punk band Few and the Proud before it grew into a full-time act, the Los Angeles Times reported.
It is with heavy, broken hearts that we share that our beloved Bo Lueders has passed away.
He will be remembered for his unwavering empathy and compassion for his friends & family and his magnetic, inimitable presence on & off the stage.

Harm’s Way went on to become a major name in hardcore, releasing five studio albums and five EPs over the years, including “Human Carrying Capacity,” “Become a Machine” and “Call My Name.”
Lueders also helped launch the “HardLore” podcast in 2022 with Young, focusing on life in the hardcore, punk and metal scene.
In a recent episode answering listener questions, Lueders spoke about what he’d want to hear one last time.
“I just wanna drift and go peacefully,” he said.
