BREAKING: Trump Announces Blockade Of Hormuz Strait

President Donald Trump announced Sunday announced that the United States Navy will immediately begin blockading the Strait of Hormuz, marking a dramatic escalation in tensions with Iran following the failure of high-stakes peace negotiations in Pakistan.

“So, there you have it, the meeting went well, most points were agreed to, but the only point that really mattered, NUCLEAR, was not. Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz,” the president posted on Truth Social.

“At some point, we will reach an ‘ALL BEING ALLOWED TO GO IN, ALL BEING ALLOWED TO GO OUT’ basis, but Iran has not allowed that to happen by merely saying, ‘There may be a mine out there somewhere,’ that nobody knows about but them. THIS IS WORLD EXTORTION, and Leaders of Countries, especially the United States of America, will never be extorted,” Trump continued, speaking in reference to Iranian mine placement.

In addition, Trump instructed the Navy to seize any vessel that pays a toll to the Iranian regime in order to navigate the strait. “No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas. We will also begin destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits. Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!” he continued.

“Iran knows, better than anyone, how to END this situation which has already devastated their Country. Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti Aircraft and Radar are useless, Khomeini, and most of their ‘Leaders,’ are dead, all because of their Nuclear ambition.”

Trump added that the blockade will begin “shortly” and further claimed that other countries will be involved. “Iran will not be allowed to profit off this Illegal Act of EXTORTION. They want money and, more importantly, they want Nuclear. Additionally and, at an appropriate moment, we are fully ‘LOCKED AND LOADED,’ and our Military will finish up the little that is left of Iran!”

The president’s statement accuses Iran of reneging on promises made during a fragile ceasefire struck earlier in the week. Trump noted that Iran had effectively imposed a “de facto toll booth system” and laid mines in the strait, despite its navy and mine-laying capabilities being largely neutralized by prior U.S.-Israeli operations.

The Strait of Hormuz holds immense strategic importance to the global oil market. The narrow waterway, which connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, was responsible for roughly one-fifth of global oil exports prior to the conflict’s eruption on February 28.

Since the war began, traffic in the strait has declined upwards of 95 percent.

Trump’s announcement comes immediately after Vice President JD Vance announced that the U.S. and Iran failed to come to an agreement after marathon negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan. The president stated hours later that while discussions were productive at times, Iran ultimately refused to surrender its nuclear ambitions.
