A deadly early-morning rampage in Georgia left two women dead and a man fighting for his life. Now, new details are raising fresh questions about the suspect’s past.

Lauren Bullis, a 40-year-old avid runner, was among the victims in Monday’s string of attacks across DeKalb County. Authorities arrested 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel later that day after what police described as a seemingly random spree.

“It is apparent to us that this was a completely random attack,” Brookhaven Police Chief Brandon Gurley said Monday.

Federal officials later confirmed Bullis worked for the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General and was attacked while walking her dog. The suspect, Abel, is a “United Kingdom national” who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2022, according to DHS, as first reported by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.

The violence began around 12:50 a.m., when DeKalb County police found a woman shot multiple times on Wesley Chapel Road. She later died from her injuries. Authorities have not publicly identified her.

Hours later, the suspect allegedly struck again in Brookhaven, where a man sleeping outside a business center on Peachtree Road was ambushed and shot several times. He remains in critical condition.

The spree reached its final and most brutal attack just before 7 a.m. on Battle Forest Drive. Bullis was found both shot and stabbed. Witnesses reported seeing a man standing over her before fleeing. She did not survive.

Authorities say Abel was tracked down in Troup County using license plate recognition technology that flagged his silver Volkswagen Jetta.

He now faces two counts of murder, along with aggravated assault and weapons charges. Officials say the attacks unfolded across three separate locations in a matter of hours, with no clear connection between the victims.

DHS officials also confirmed Abel had a lengthy criminal history prior to the killings, including convictions for sexual battery, battery against a police officer and assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators have not identified a motive.
