Comedian Under Fire For Sick Message Delivered To Darline Graham’s Office

A comedian and social media personality is facing backlash after claiming she delivered a cake to the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s Capitol Hill office with a vile message aimed at his sister, newly sworn-in Sen. Darline Graham Nordone.

Elizabeth Booker Houston said Tuesday on X that she had dropped off the cake after Graham’s sudden death and Nordone’s appointment to finish his Senate term.

“I just dropped this cake off at Lindsey Graham’s office,” Elizabeth Booker Houston wrote in a Tuesday X post. “Congratudolences, Darline! Your brother is burning in hell, and now, you’re working for the devil!”

The post included a photo of the cake, which featured a printed image of Graham smiling in a suit and tie.

The cake was bordered with white frosting and decorated with blue icing roses on the top left corner and around the edges.

Across the top, it read, “CONGRATUDOLENCES!”—a play on the words “congratulations” and “condolences.”

Some users cheered the stunt.

One person wrote, “You’re truly doing god’s work,” while another said, “Elizabeth, I love you. When I grow up I want to be just like you.”

But many others blasted the move as cruel, trashy and proof of how deranged political hatred has become on the left.

One critic wrote, “You really need a different hobby if you were so invested in politics that this is what you resort to. Good thing I wasn’t there because you would’ve been wearing your cake.”

Another person wrote, “It’s funny that you think anyone will see that cake other than the intern who throws it away. Complete waste of time and money,” with a clown face emoji.

Someone else said, “Get a life. I wasn’t a fan of Lindsey, but this is ridiculous. Your hatred is rotting your brain.”

Lindsey Graham, 71, died Saturday night, shocking Washington and his home state of South Carolina.

An autopsy performed Sunday suggested Graham died from aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

The longtime Republican senator had been one of the chamber’s most active members and had even been scheduled to appear on “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning.

His office said the final death certificate would not be completed until additional testing is finished.

“The death certificate will be PENDING until all the toxicological and microscopic testing are finalized, and at that point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death.”

Nordone, Graham’s sister, was sworn in Tuesday to serve the remainder of her brother’s term.

Graham helped raise Nordone after their parents died when he was young, a personal story that became central to his public life and political identity.

That made the cake stunt even uglier to critics, who saw it as a direct shot at a grieving sister stepping into her brother’s seat just days after his death.

Graham was a hawkish Republican, a close Trump ally in his later years and a lightning rod for the left.

But even in Washington’s nasty political climate, celebrating a man’s death with a cake delivered to his family’s office was too much for many observers.

The stunt was apparently meant to be edgy.

Instead, it became another reminder that some political obsessives no longer know the difference between commentary and basic human decency.
