Meghan McCain Reveals Heartbreaking Loss, Pins Blame On Fauci

Meghan McCain is demanding Dr. Anthony Fauci be thrown in jail after newly released text messages showed the former top health official privately discussed a theoretical miscarriage risk associated with COVID-19 vaccination during the first trimester, prompting women across social media to share heartbreaking stories of pregnancy loss during the pandemic.

The 2021 messages, released Monday by Sens. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Rand Paul, R-Ky., show Fauci discussing COVID-19 vaccination and pregnancy with then-CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

In one exchange, Fauci wrote that many people experience a “significant cytokine storm and fever” after the second vaccine dose and that it “theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.”

The texts do not show Fauci concluding that COVID-19 vaccines cause miscarriages or citing evidence that they do. The CDC has said COVID-19 vaccination “has not been linked to increased health risks for pregnant women or babies.”

Still, the messages sparked outrage online, particularly among women who said they experienced miscarriages during the pandemic.

“Put Fauci in jail! I am a woman who was pregnant and had a miscarriage during COVID,” Meghan McCain, who shares three children with husband Ben Domenech, wrote on X.

Billionaire investor Bill Ackman also revealed that he and his wife, Neri Oxman, suffered repeated pregnancy losses while trying to have a second child during the pandemic.

“Neri (and I) had seven miscarriages trying to have a second child during Covid and then the time ran out. WTF was he thinking?” Ackman said of Fauci.

Many other social media users claimed they experienced miscarriages after receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, although those accounts are anecdotal.

“I miscarried at 12 weeks just 5 days after a booster. Booster was taken after NP [nurse practitioner] stated she would be more worried about me as a mother if I declined it,” one woman identified as Roxy wrote.

Others shared stories involving daughters, wives and close friends who they believe miscarried after receiving the shots.

“My daughter took the first two shots to keep her job. She had two miscarriages in the first trimester. One in 2023, and another in 2024. Fortunately she had my granddaughter in 2025,” one X user wrote.

“My daughter, who was forced to get the va [vaccine] because of her job, lost her second baby at 15 weeks. I had a hunch this was the reason. Words fail me right now. I am sick to my stomach,” another wrote.

Another user, Martha, said a friend miscarried after getting vaccinated.

“She would be devastated if she knew positively it was related as she got the vaccine on a whim when it was mass promoted and before people started figuring out there were issues,” she wrote.

Several men also weighed in with stories about their wives’ pregnancy losses.

“My wife had a miscarriage after taking the required shots to keep her job/any job in healthcare,” Dan Karpuc wrote.

“Both my wife & I graduated from Fauci’s alma mater Holy Cross, which recently renamed the building we took classes in the ‘Anthony S Fauci Integrated Sciences Complex.’ Disgusted.”

The release of Fauci’s texts has fueled fresh scrutiny from Republicans investigating the federal government’s handling of the pandemic, while women who experienced pregnancy losses said the messages left them questioning whether officials had been fully transparent about potential concerns that were discussed privately even as public health agencies maintained the vaccines were safe for pregnant women.
