Outgoing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared new details on her new role within President Donald Trump’s political orbit after she formally steps down from her current role at the end of the month.

Leavitt, who has served as White House press secretary since the beginning of Trump’s second term, holds the distinction of being the youngest person ever to serve in the role at 28-years-old. She assumed the position after working as national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and as a spokeswoman for MAGA Inc., a super PAC supporting Trump and aligned Republican candidates.

While speaking with reporters outside Air Force One on Friday, Leavitt stated that she would return to work with MAGA Inc. following her departure from the White House. The organization holds substantial funds ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections.

Leavitt did not specify an exact title within MAGA Inc., but confirmed that she would still be highly involved with the administration. “You guys will still see me all the time,” she said before departing for the president’s rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which marked her final official outing in the press secretary role. She added that she planned to attend a Republican convention in Dallas, Texas, in September and to participate in midterm campaign activities.

Leavitt previously worked as an assistant press secretary in the White House during Trump’s first term, served as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and ran as the Republican nominee for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District in 2022.

“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect! Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post when announcing her departure on August 12.

“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024. Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!”

President Trump has not named a successor for Leavitt as of this report.
