Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison Has Emergency Surgery

“Pawn Stars” star Rick Harrison is recovering in the hospital after a routine heart procedure took a sudden and serious turn.

A spokesperson for the Harrison family told TMZ that the 61-year-old reality star initially went in for what was expected to be a stent procedure.

Doctors then discovered a more serious problem and determined Harrison needed bypass surgery.

The operation was performed on an emergency basis, according to the report.

Harrison is now resting comfortably and is expected to make a full recovery.

His representative said the longtime History Channel star is grateful for the care he is receiving from doctors and hospital staff.

His wife, Angie, and other members of his family are staying close by as he recovers.

The health scare comes just months after Harrison was in Washington for the Small Business Summit at the White House.

During that visit, Harrison was praised by President Donald Trump while discussing small business and his decades-long career in the pawn industry.

Harrison became a household name through “Pawn Stars,” the hit reality series centered on the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.

The show debuted in 2009 and quickly turned Harrison, his family and the shop’s employees into some of reality television’s most recognizable figures.

Harrison has spent years evaluating rare collectibles, historical artifacts and unusual memorabilia while negotiating deals with customers on camera.

The sudden surgery marks a serious health scare for the veteran television personality, but his family says he is recovering and looking ahead to getting back on his feet.
