Trump Debuts Hilarious Nickname For Dem Congresswoman Following ‘Lake America’ Spat

President Donald Trump had harsh words for U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and even gave her one of his signature nicknames following a spat over his decision to rename “Lake Ontario” to “Lake America.”

On August 27, Trump signed an executive order directing the Interior Department and U.S. Board on Geographic Names to update the Geographic Names Information System so that federal maps, documents, and communications use “Lake America.” The change applied only to U.S. government usage. Canada and other parties were not required to adopt it.

The order came after U.S.-Canada trade talks collapsed and the United States imposed 50 percent tariffs on about $20 billion in Canadian goods, while Canada announced reciprocal measures.

Dingell, whose district borders Great Lakes waters, criticized the renaming. She stated that the Great Lakes are a shared resource that the United States and Canada have jointly protected and announced plans to introduce the “Hands Off Our Great Lakes Act” alongside Reps. Tim Kennedy (D-NY) and Joe Morelle (D-NY).

The bill would declare the executive order without force or effect, restore the name Lake Ontario, and bar future presidential renaming of the Great Lakes.

Dingell further described the order as a “distraction” from economic issues, stating that Trump was dividing people and diverting attention from a trade policy she said raised costs and threatened workers. She added that after finishing “arts and crafts in the Oval,” he should address those matters.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump responded to the congresswoman’s statements by referencing his past dealings with her late husband. “Upon his death, I gave Congressman John Dingell, the Royal Sendoff, MAXED OUT! His wife, Debbie Dingbat, called me and thanked me profusely, while crying uncontrollably. She couldn’t believe I would do such a nice thing,” the president wrote.

“Since then, she says nothing but bad about your favorite President, ME! Every time I see that Third Rate Loser ripping me, I’m amazed, because I’m a loyal person, I don’t do things like that but, that’s OK — It’s Politics. However, it shouldn’t be that way!”

The reference concerned events after former Rep. John Dingell, who at the time was the longest-serving member of Congress, died in February 2019. Trump ordered U.S. flags lowered to half-staff in his honor at the time.
