JUST IN: Notorious Trump-Hating Official Subpoenaed In Federal Probe Into Conspiracy Against President
Former CIA Director John Brennan has been ordered to testify before a federal grand jury in Florida as the Justice Department presses ahead with a sprawling investigation into whether former intelligence and law enforcement officials conspired against President Donald Trump.
Brennan is scheduled to appear Oct. 15 before a grand jury in Fort Pierce, Florida, according to a court filing by his attorney, Ken Wainstein.
Wainstein said prosecutors served him with the subpoena last week and described the investigation as a “far-reaching” criminal probe examining whether officials involved in years of investigations targeting Trump worked together to deprive him of his civil rights.
The subpoena marks a major escalation in an investigation that has been unfolding for months and has focused heavily on the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation and other federal probes involving Trump.
Brennan, who served as CIA director during the Obama administration, has long denied wrongdoing.
His attorney also said prosecutors told him Brennan remains a target in a separate Washington investigation examining whether he made false statements to Congress in 2023.
Brennan and his legal team have repeatedly denied that allegation.

The Florida probe has reportedly examined the conduct of former intelligence and law enforcement officials who were involved in investigations surrounding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and the later federal investigation into classified documents recovered from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
The subpoena arrived amid turmoil inside the investigation itself.
Joe diGenova, the veteran prosecutor who had been helping lead the inquiry, resigned from his Justice Department role the same day Brennan’s subpoena was delivered.
The Justice Department has not publicly announced who will replace diGenova.

Wainstein said he later spoke with Kurt Olsen, another lawyer working with the investigative team.
The inquiry has drawn intense scrutiny because of its sweeping scope and its focus on former officials who played major roles in investigations involving Donald Trump over the past decade.
Previous federal reviews of the Russia investigation identified serious errors and failures in parts of the government’s handling of the probe, but did not establish a criminal conspiracy by senior intelligence officials.
Special counsel Robert Mueller also concluded there was insufficient evidence to prove that Trump’s 2016 campaign criminally conspired with Russia, while finding that Russia interfered in the election.
Brennan is now fighting back in federal court.
The former CIA director has asked a judge to order the government to preserve records tied to the investigations involving him, arguing that those documents could be critical if prosecutors ultimately seek an indictment.
His attorneys have said the records could be used to challenge any prosecution as politically motivated or vindictive.
No charges have been announced against Brennan in connection with the Florida grand jury investigation.
But the subpoena means Brennan could soon be forced to answer questions under oath as federal prosecutors continue examining one of the most politically explosive chapters of the past decade.
