Russia Strikes Iconic US Company’s Property In Ukraine

A warehouse used by a logistics partner of McDonald’s was struck during a Russian drone attack in the Kyiv region, according to the fast-food giant’s Ukrainian division.

The Sept. 25 attack damaged a facility that stored McDonald’s products as Russia continued launching drones and missiles across Ukraine.

McDonald’s Ukraine confirmed the strike and said there were no reported injuries.

“The most important thing is that no one was injured,” McDonald’s said.

Despite the damage to the warehouse, the American fast-food company said its restaurants in Ukraine continued operating normally.

“We continue to assess the potential impact of this situation on our operations,” the company said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also addressed the strike, saying a warehouse connected to McDonald’s had been damaged in the attack.

“An attack drone – against ordinary food products,” the president noted.

The McDonald’s-linked warehouse was not the only commercial property hit as Russian forces continued pounding the Kyiv area.

A major production facility and logistics warehouse belonging to TK-Domashnii Tekstil also suffered significant damage in a Russian missile strike, according to Ukrainian reporting.

Ukraine has faced repeated waves of Russian drone attacks in recent days, including strikes on warehouses, residential buildings, transportation infrastructure and other sites in and around Kyiv.

On Sept. 23, Russian forces launched multiple drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital, damaging another warehouse as air raid alerts repeatedly sounded across the city.

The attacks intensified again on Sept. 25, with Ukrainian authorities reporting deadly Russian strikes across Kyiv and damage to civilian and commercial infrastructure.

McDonald’s has maintained a significant presence in Ukraine despite the ongoing war, reopening restaurants after temporarily suspending operations following Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.

The latest strike highlights the continued risk facing businesses and logistics networks operating in the country as long-range Russian drones increasingly target the Kyiv region.

For McDonald’s, the immediate concern was keeping its Ukrainian restaurants supplied while officials assessed how much damage the warehouse sustained and whether the attack would disrupt future operations.
