Jasmine Crockett Appears Heavily Intoxicated In New Video
U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) appeared to be heavily intoxicated when she was approached by independent reporter Nicholas Ballasy about her recent decision to honor a controversial artist.
The clip shows the congresswoman in a sequined evening gown at a formal gathering with blue and purple lighting and banquet-style tables. She holds the arm of a man in a dark suit, turns toward the camera with a fixed expression, and walks through the room as the camera follows.
Commenters described her as appearing unsteady or “drunk,” and the clips have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
Ballasy’s original post framed the footage as Crockett declining to address backlash over her September 12 appearance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. There she joined state Rep. Venton Jones onstage during Chris Brown and Usher’s joint tour and announced a Congressional Record recognition of the artists’ careers.

Brown has a 2009 felony assault conviction involving Rihanna and later legal cases involving violence allegations; the honor drew criticism from some commentators and constituents.
Jones later issued an apology, though Crockett has not publicly commented on the controversy.
Crockett, who represents Texas’s 30th Congressional District and lost the 2026 Democratic Party Senate primary to James Talarico, has not issued a statement addressing the video or claims about her condition. The event itself has not been identified in available reporting beyond the formal setting visible on camera.
The video circulated the same week Crockett’s leadership PAC, FIRE PAC, released a new list of 24 endorsements that did not include James Talarico. The Texas Tribune has described Crockett as focusing on down-ballot Texas House and county races rather than campaigning with Talarico.
After the primary she issued a statement saying she would work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, but she has repeatedly said she will not join him on the campaign trail
