Ex-Top Trump Official Makes Move Against Sean Hannity
Former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia appears to be cutting ties with Fox News host Sean Hannity, unfollowing the conservative commentator on X just days after her stunning exit from the Trump administration.
The apparent social media snub comes after Hannity grilled Zacharia on his Fox News program shortly before she was removed from her high-profile White House position.
According to the online tracking account U.S. Politics Alert, Zacharia unfollowed Hannity on Monday, fueling speculation that the former Trump official was unhappy with how the television host treated her.
Neither Zacharia nor Hannity has publicly explained the apparent falling-out, leaving the reason behind the move unclear.
But social media users wasted little time weighing in.
“I don’t blame her,” one commenter wrote.
Another offered a more pointed assessment of the Fox News personality.
“He doesn’t deserve your follow.”
A third commenter suggested Zacharia had been facing an uphill battle regardless of Hannity’s questioning.
“It was a hit job, but she was doomed anyway.”
Press Secretary Katie Zacharia reveals she had less than 24 hours to prepare for her first White House press briefing, saying she stepped up to highlight President Trump’s accomplishments for the American people:
“I was given the offer last Wednesday, or I got a phone call last Wednesday. I flew out to D.C. on Thursday. I had a meeting on Friday, was offered the job, flew home to California on Saturday, flew back to Washington on Sunday, and was asked to start on Monday, Sean, which was Columbus Day, so it was a federal holiday. And I was asked to have a press briefing at 9:30 in the morning on Tuesday. So what I feel is that I really stepped up to the plate to do the press conference, Sean, with very little prep time. I received briefing materials on Tuesday morning, and I went to deliver all of the great results that President Trump is delivering for the American people that are not often spread in the national media. So I took it as an opportunity for people to know what he’s doing for Americans and how hard he’s working.”

The online drama follows Zacharia’s remarkably brief stint as President Donald Trump‘s chief White House spokesperson.
The 41-year-old was removed from the position Oct. 16 after holding the job for just five days, making her tenure one of the shortest in modern White House history.

Her appointment had barely settled into place before questions emerged about her performance and ability to handle the administration’s demanding press operation.
Zacharia’s troubles intensified following her debut White House press briefing Oct. 13.

The appearance lasted just 14 minutes and quickly attracted criticism after she struggled through portions of her prepared remarks.
She answered only three questions before concluding the briefing, an unusually limited exchange for a White House press secretary facing intense national media attention.
One particularly awkward moment came when Zacharia mistakenly referred to her husband as “my president.”
The verbal slip added to criticism of a performance that reportedly drew negative reactions from both outside observers and officials within the White House.
Her appearance on Sean Hannity‘s program subsequently placed her under additional scrutiny, with the Fox News host pressing her during what would become one of her final days in the administration.
By Oct. 16, Zacharia was out of the job.

The rapid departure surprised observers given the importance of the press secretary’s position, which requires managing daily interactions between the administration and the national news media.
Now, her decision to unfollow Hannity has brought renewed attention to the circumstances surrounding her dismissal.
Although an unfollow is hardly a formal declaration of a feud, the timing has raised eyebrows among political commentators following the administration’s latest personnel shake-up.
The development is also noteworthy because Hannity has long been one of Trump’s most recognizable supporters in conservative media.
His willingness to press a newly appointed Trump official on television became part of the broader scrutiny surrounding Katie Zacharia‘s short-lived appointment.
Still, there is no confirmation that the interview directly prompted her decision to unfollow him.
For Zacharia, the move marks another unexpected twist following a turbulent five days in one of Washington‘s most visible positions.
Her White House career may have ended almost as quickly as it began, but the fallout surrounding her departure is apparently still generating headlines.
