Democrat Strategist James Carville Calls Republicans “White Trash” On MSNBC
During Biden’s State of the Union address, there was a point at which the claim being pushed by Biden was so ridiculous that numerous Republicans started booing him. This moment occurred when he accused the GOP of wanting to destroy Social Security and Medicare and Republicans started booing him and Rep. MTG called him a “liar”.
Of course, Democrats were outraged by the Republicans shouting “liar” and booing. That pearl-clutching outrage came despite Pelosi’s antics during President Trump’s State of the Union address, such as when she ripped up his speech.
In any case, they made their fury known on their unwatched shows, such as on “The Beat with Ari Melber” on MSNBC. On that show, Melber asked Democratic strategist James Carville what he thought of the incident, asking:
“You’ve advised a lot of candidates and presidents. I guess if you had your pick you’d say maybe better to not have someone screaming ‘liar.’ Maybe just do the darn thing. But it also seemed to expose exactly what the president’s up against. Was that a bad moment for Republicans?”
Responding, Carville attacked Republicans like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as being “real white trash,” saying:
“Well, you know, I told people I have a PhD in white trashology, and you saw real white trash on display. Let me say something about Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene, she dresses like white trash. She really needs a fashion consultant. Could I recommend George Santos. He could do a good job of dressing up where she doesn’t announce her white trash-dom by her own clothes.”
Watch that interview here:
That was a horrid enough comment that even MSNBC’s Melber had to chime in and ask Carville to talk about policy rather than insulting the GOP as being “white trash,” saying:
“Her thing was saying, ‘oh, the outfit was supposed to do the spy balloon,’ the antics. I wonder what you think on policy … this is what he [Biden] has to deal with.”
Responding, Carville mostly ignored Melber and returned to the white trash talking point, saying “I thought he [Biden] had a great night last night. It’s just – the level of white trash-dom in the Republican Party is staggering. I mean, for somebody that has observed it for a long time like I have, I’ve never seen it manifest itself on a level that it’s manifesting itself.”
